This is a pair of RAID1 devices that create one logical volume. We are exporting the logical volume we created in this series of articles. The only lines we modified are: User userid superpassword We need to copy the sample nf to /etc and edit: iscsitarget-0.3.4]# vi /etc/nf Install: creating directory `/lib/modules/2.4.27/kernel/iscsi' `scripts/initd.redhat' -> `/etc/init.d/iscsi-target' Install -v -m 755 scripts/initd /etc/init.d/iscsi-target \ Install -v -m 755 scripts/initd.redhat /etc/init.d/iscsi-target \ Install -v -m 755 scripts/bian /etc/init.d/iscsi-target \ Let’s install the modules: iscsitarget-0.3.4]# make KERNELSRC=./linux-2.4.27 install Make: Leaving directory iscsitarget-0.3.4]# Make: Leaving directory `/usr/src/iscsitarget-0.3.4/kernel' DKBUILD_BASENAME=file_io -c -o file-io.o file-io.c Make: Entering directory `/usr/src/linux-2.4.27' Make: Leaving directory `/usr/src/iscsitarget-0.3.4/iscsid' Make: Entering directory `/usr/src/iscsitarget-0.3.4/iscsid' Let’s uncompress the source and compile for our kernel: src]# tar -xzf src]# cd iscsitarget-0.3.4]# lsĬhangeLog nf iscsid Makefile READMEĬOPYING include kernel man iscsitarget-0.3.4]# make KERNELSRC=./linux-2.4.27 For our iSCSI target, we will use the source from the iSCSI Enterprise Target Project. We will be running the target on a GNU/Linux box with a 2.4.27 kernel, and will run the initiator on a Windows 2000 server. ![]() The client piece/driver is called the initiator. An iSCSI target is the server piece of an iSCSI SAN.
